FEBRUARY 2012: Jim Neidhardt

2012

Jim Neidhardt’s painting series is entitled Modern Screen and examines what’s left of new media when content is removed from the equation. The show characterizes digital images in terms of measurement: the ‘new’ focus is on display size not what is being looked at. Neidhardt feels we are so overloaded with images, the only interesting feature is the size; we have seen every story and style already.

The painting titles, 3.5”, 9”, 42”, etc., refer to popular screen sizes in devices ranging from cell phones to home entertainment centers. All images are paint stick and acrylic on inked canvas”, 30” x 40”, and completed in 2011.
